All Java 6 versions are officially supported. Note: Java versions 6 update 26 to 6 update 30 may create problems with the publishing process and some other operations due to known issues in incompatibility between Oracle's jdk and Microsoft's sqljdbc4.jar For more detail on this issue you can see THIS thread. From my personal experience, I noticed the ...

We have worked on a Platform (very much famous and has been featured in many of SDL Tridion Shows as a case study) where we had more than 80 websites sharing data from same broker. And this has been implemented in SDL Tridion 2009. The approach was as below: Any data that needs to be fetched from broker is fetched by using a WCF service based on a specific ...

only Java 6 is supported for Tridion 2011 SP1 HR1, it does not work on Java 7(i hadtried) & i do not think its support for Java 7 is going to happen because there would be good amount of change and 2013 is already launched. so very less chance. Latest Version of Java 6 can be download from here

Without specifying what level of integration you need, this is rather hard to answer. However the best answer I can give you (which almost all of the times works) is starting with a question: How would you solve this without SDL Tridion? You will most likely do it with SDL Tridion the exact same way as you would do it without. Only if you have a need for ...

The installation and setup of the deployer is exactly the same whether it is an active or a passive deployer which you can refer here Deployer Setup The active/passive setup is done via the NLB. In the NLB you have to setup active/passive (failover) partners in terms of your deployers. So, only one deployer is active at a time while is the other one is a ...

You can find 'Release notes' associated with each version of SDL Tridion in the online documentation. For example, these can be found on the PDF documentation downloads page in the online documentation for SDL Tridion 2013 SP1. This document is described as: The release notes describes new features, changed features, what has been fixed in this ...

When you say "1 Broker per website" do you mean per publication or would several language publications of a website share 1 Broker? At the moment we're running 5 websites (language publications) on DD4T from a single broker - with CCS + DD4Ts caching + ASP.NET Output caching our site(s) are (were!) running pretty well - albeit its not a high demand website.

If you want to sync your Production environment back to Dev and Test and need it to be an exact copy, then the best thing you can do is make a backup of the Production CMS database and restore that on the Dev envrionment. The only thing you will miss at that point is the what is actually published (the published state is there, but the actual files on your ...

I hope the below picture helps with a very high level comparison of various SDL Tridion version from R5.x through 2013

Short Answer: Tridion 2013 SP1 is the latest and greatest SDL release and built using the same Architecture as 2011. Content Porter is completely rebuilt and performs much faster and more reliable. In Tridion 2013 the integrations between other SDL products is better (such as Smart Target) and the GUI performs faster. As Jonathan mentions, the ...

Be aware that the passive deployer must not become active until the previously active deployer has ceased all deployment (or you could get out-of-order deployment commits). Ideally before making the passive deployer the active one the previously active deployer must be terminated (or disconnected from the network, or otherwise ensured to no longer commit ...

I would strongly suggest not developing this within Tridion, but choose a .NET based Discussion Forum Tool that you want to integrate with. As Bart suggests, figure out how you want to integrate with it without Tridion first. Assuming you have some kind of high level ASP.NET application architecture (Using MVC, ASPX or something else). Select a tool that ...

I don't think you should have any concerns about using a broker database for multiple publications. It's clearly designed to support this scenario. In fact, I think you'd have to have a reason not to go with multiple publications per database. So for example if you had publications with different security requirements or something like that. Otherwise, go ...
