Have you researched / tried increasing the timeout?
You're probably hitting a limit on the Active Server directory rather than in Tridion (increasing the Tridion timeout to something large would show this). You could check this in the logs of the AD server.
Have you tried executing a similar query directly using something other than Tridion and seeing if ...
The question of how Categories and Keywords are used within Tridion are fairly basic, and can be found in the online documentation and Content Editors' Manual (login required).
The question of why Categories and Keywords are used is more interesting...
The Tridion Taxonomy (the collection of Categories and Keywords) is primarily used to classify the ...
It's not useful to try and review your XML (schema definition) in comments - next time please do put the full XML in the question directly (and then format as code so it's readable).
Also, it's more useful to include the exact error you have (in your case I suspect you can't even save the schema due to the duplicate type)
Working through what I can there ...
Template Building Blocks are executed when you publish something. They are used to transform your content, which is stored as XML in the content manager database, to something that your web application needs (typically html or, in cases like DXA and DD4T, JSON).
This type of question is what most people here would consider "basic knowledge", so it may be ...
As Nuno explained in this question: its main reason is abstraction.
What you can set on Target Type and not on Publication Type is security. For second, you have have multiple target types that point (publish) to same Publication Target which gives you more flexibility with it.
In order to debug against the "TcmTemplateDebugHost" locally, you need to setup Remote Debugging (link below). If you have access to the CM server itself, you can also run Template Builder on the CM and debug directly against the TcmTemplateDebugHost process assuming Template Builder is running.
There used to be some extensions required which would run the ...
It's not possible to use the exact same url for two mapped publications. This way, DXA would never know which publication to use to read content from.
You can point two publications to one dxa web app, but then you need to either use a different base url (eg http://english.mysite.com and http://french.mysite.com - if you want to localize by language, or ...
What you are seeing is not actually an error but expected behavior with a default install of the Deployer Micro Service. You have OAuth enabled for your service which is configured in the ambient config file.
The Invalid grant is because when you make a get request with OAuth enabled you must first get a token from the token service, which in turn can be ...
The constraints on Page file name can be customized in the file cm_xml_usr.xsd. This is an XML Schema which defines several simple types used to constrain titles, file names, etc.
Note that non-ASCII characters will be UTF-8 URL encoded, resulting in URLs which are hard to read, but most browsers will show the decoded URL anyways.
For the environment you are explaining, it seems that you are using the same discovery database for all the groups.
AFAIK all the discovery services, are part of a content delivery envireonment, and they need a diferent discovery database. If you are using the same discovery database for more than one delivery environment, when you update and register the ...
rename your existing publications,
perform the install and then
bearing in mind you will need to account for Blueprinting, you can integrate the contents of organizational items as best suits your needs.
I just got reminded I had some problems with this a while back, have a glance here too: TRI Import.ps1 fails for websites-only
Also, Bart had ...
Welcome to Tridion
Core Service is a .Net web service API, allows you to interact with the CMS from another machine than the CMS server itself and before jumping on writing CURD operation using Tridion Core service I would recommend to you , please go through to SDL documentation and learn about Tridion Core Service ,there you will code snippets as well ...
Short answer is no. Not out of the box anyway. You could look at a GUI extension (I'm sure one was started in the Alchemy Plugin Framework and, as Raj indicates there was one in the 2011 Power Tools) - you've not indicated in your question your version.
how would it best appear (e.g. a specific tab)
what about localization (and, of course, ...
I found 2 very useful links one from the documentation and the other from Dominic's blog. Both of these provide details on all available cmdlets (commandlets). Dominic's blog goes a step further and explains how to get this information from available Modules. Also providing the way to look for parameters and help on these modules.
There are a few more ...
The username can be anything you want, MTSUser was the default user name for Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) in the past, and we never bothered changing the default name.
Security-conscious people will tell you that you should rename it to something else.
This account is used to connect to the search indexers (configurable in the MMC plug-in) and to run ...
This means that for some reason the publish instruction resulted in 0 items to publish. Maybe the structure group is set to not be publishable, or some other reason. Pre Web 8 this would have been reported as a success, with 0 items published, which I think is worse :)
Might be worth running your publisher in debug (stop the publisher service then run ...
Looking at your implementation, publishinstructiondata has two main objects: ResolveInstructionData and RenderInstruction.
In your implementation, you have created object for ResolveInstructionData however you are missing RenderInstruction object. That could be reason the publishing is not working.
The time that it takes to list the users in even a moderately large domain can be sufficient to cause a timeout. This has been an ongoing issue with Tridion since the early days. You could argue that it's a Windows issue rather than a Tridion issue, but sure, Tridion tries to read the list of domain users so that it can offer a choice when adding new users. ...
it does get stored on DB from SDL 8.6. you can find the details [APP_DATA] table CM Database.
You can use the following code to read the value using core service:
var client = CMSession.GetInstance().CoreServiceClient;
var appData = client.ReadApplicationData(null, APPDATA_CUSTOMPAGES_ID);
if (appData != null)
var ada = new ApplicationDataAdapter(...
After playing with install scripts, I was finally able to install services with domain URL containing context path. To help others with similar requirement, I am writing the steps to install service with a custom URL:

Welcome to Tridion, and fasten your seatbelt.
I guess the best way to start is the DXA. Check the DXA documentation on https://docs.sdl.com and ask questions here.
You can use Java or .NET for this, choose whichever you feel more comfortable with.
Google for "setting up tridion development environment", you'll find a few good blog posts by the community, ...
The ProcessSummary class does have methods that provide information with regards to the items exported/imported. The screen shot below is the preview of the ProcessSummary class in Visual Studio.

I have seen similar error in the past and it occurred because of incorrect entries in "%TRIDION_HOME%solr-tomcat\conf\web.xml" for below nodes:
Open the Tridion App and choose 'About' from left hand-eclipse type menu item at the bottom, then you should be able to see similar screen shots below and know which version you have on your box.

If you are using DD4T caching with ActiveMQ cache invalidation, that allows you to keep DD4T objects cached for a long period (until they get invalidated).
However, your application may still be (indirectly) using the CIL API as well. So, I would recommend to also enable CIL caching (but with a relatively short Time To Live, e.g. 1 minute).
BTW: for Java ...
Take a look at the class hierarchy in the API doc.
Note: Keywords and VersionedItems are both RepositoryLocalObjects, but not all RepositoryLocalObjects are VersionedItems. Take a look in the CM GUI, you'll notice that you don't have versions on Keywords.
So I would suspect that the line where you make the assignment to the 'item' variable is what's ...
