After testing, and googling, I found out that this is the way to go for 8.5 also: https://gateway.sdl.com/CommunityKnowledge?articleName=000012178

Why would you expect it? Add binary method just adds binary to the package. Publish state is changed when item is published to delivery as a separate item and is present in broker db as Component Presentation. AddBinary will not do that.

There is no support for Proxy Settings in ECL. You need to implement it at the connector.

I Guess you can try to decommission a publication target: https://docs.sdl.com/792152/129990/sdl-web-8-5--retired-/decommissioning-a-publication-target But honestly I am not sure if it will work, because it seems you no longer have this target in the system. Other option is to contact SDL support, and after they inspect your DB, they can provide you with ...

It turns out that CMS side of DXA 2.2 for SDL Web 8.5 has a bug (or incompatibility with Java DXA 2.2 side) which is causing values of Schemas to be generated as a List<RichTextData> instead of List<String> in the ExtensionData of the JSON page model. As in our case, InheritMetadataPageModelBuilderi is using the method GetTypedArrayOfValues which ...

Unfortunately there is no way to get link title via Core Service in 8.5. CME indeed make a round trip each time. It happens "inside" CME model service.

There isn't a list, but there is way (in Eclipse), which can help you determine where class is locating Go to the Navigate menu, Open Type... (or Ctrl-Shift-T), Then type in the class name and see the list of possible jars where it could be coming from. Hope it helps.

So to answer my question, I have used approach as provided in Will's article: http://www.tridiondeveloper.com/cleaning-and-extending-dynamic-linking So I extended TagRenderer class and provided implementation in doEndTag(). It works now. public String doEndTag(Tag tag, StringBuffer stringBuffer, TransformContext transformContext, OutputDocument ...

You can use IsExistingObject to verify if the object exists, this google search shows some examples of using it: https://www.google.com/search?q=session+isexistingobject+tridion Something along these lines: if(this.Engine.GetSession().IsExistingObject(tcmUri)) { // object exists} You'd need to make sure the Tcm Uri to the object you're checking is changed ...

I agree with @Marko, No, It's not possible by configuration, currently getting the target type list getting ordered by ID in the SQL query. Here is the query executed in the backend by coreservice to getting the Target Type while open up the publishing popup dialog. (/WebUI/Models/TCM54/Services/Lists.svc/GetList with filter {"id":"tcm:0-5-1&...

publishContext.PublicationTarget.Title; is not working with razor , you can use Engine.PublishingContext.TargetType and see if you can get the target , if not create a .net Code and use it on your Component Template refer to this link for mofre details.

We looked into the SpringBoot and Tomcat versions used and we can see that the setting which controls rotation based on format is not available on 8.5. See below more details. 8.5 uses SpringBoot 1.4.7.RELEASE + Tomcat 8.5.54 9.5 uses SpringBoot 2.1.18.RELEASE + Tomcat 9.0.45 The setting in question is not available in SpringBoot 1.4.7, but it is in ...

I did try to reproduce this issue in DXA 2.2.5 Java, but it couldn't able to reproduce this issue, it actually works for me in the OOTB DXA Core module as expected. same I also try to reproduce this issue in DXA 2.2.9 .NET there also not an issue. It's working fine, I can confirm that DXA Webapp Framework not having an issue for the multi-value field for ...

As Marko discussed, this is normal behaviour. I do recall an old article from way back by Frank van Puffelen that discussed this and a Binary Event Tracker to allow these "implicitly published binaries" to show up as published/unpublished. Its quite old so had to to dig it out via the Wayback Machine! https://web.archive.org/web/20170524083931/...

Answer to your questions: Q: Is the reference document mentioned is good enough for this upgrade? A: Yes. High-level steps Q: I am using SDL Web 8.5 and trying DXA 2.2.9 which uses GraphQL as providers? A: There is no PCA Graphql feature in 8.5, It's available only from sites 9.0+ versions, you need to update your unity.config to use CIL Defaultproviders ...

Thanks, Velmurugan for the help So It was trying to install the TBB in the publication which doesn't exist There should be some parameter to pass the publication name, so I renamed my site in CMS to 110 DXA Site Type and it started working fine.

AFAIK In the DXA 2.2+ the cms-import.ps1 has CoreService Contract Version check logic and automatically determines the correct version to pick up the correct import packages. It doesn't need any configuration changes. not sure you are using the correct version of cms-import.ps1 install script from DXA 2.2+, or could be something that goes wrong in this below ...

In general, to get a list of items related to some subject, you can use the Core Service methods GetList (returns Data Objects) or GetListXml (returns so-called R5 XML). Specifically, to get a list of child Keywords, you use one of those methods in combination with a filter of type ChildKeywordsFilterData. If you only want to get the "normal"/"...

I did a research about this. sharing my findings here. Tomcat logs grow with no enforced size limits, they roll only once per day and are never purged in Tomcat. Tomcat uses JULI logging by default, which does not provide for log file rotation based on the file size limit. The default JULI logging configuration will allow log files to grow unbounded and they ...

AFAIK, no, it is not possible by any configuration. But I guess you can always try to create GUI extension that changes order of the items in whichever way you want. Publish dialog is extensible, so you can extend its UI and try to reorder items.

The DXA 2.2 TBBs for Web 8.5 are effectively “hotfixed” DXA 2.0 TBBs. The source code for these TBBs is on the release/2.0 branch in GitHub: https://github.com/sdl/dxa-content-management/tree/release/2.0 The version detection logic in the cms-import.ps1 PowerShell script determines whether the CMS is 8.5 or 9.x and based on that selects the Web 8.5 or Sites ...

You can't. What I ended up doing a long time ago when I had the same need was to have a different extension for each command, then: Set a variable with the name of the command the user called (this.properties.CommandCalled="Save") or something along those lines Call a "central" function which had the logic I wanted to execute In that &...

It depends what you need, if indeed to check whether an item exists, then it's Nuno's answer. Otherwise... I need to validate the presence of the Component in it's top Parent Publication You have a property on a Component (and other Repository Objects) which will give you the Item in the context of what you call the "top Parent Publication", see: ...

Apparently, this issue is resolved by implementing Apache Freemarker servlet.

There are 2 reasons for that: slow VPN tunnel (full tunneling is more than 5x times worse), sometimes 100x slower! cache issues (or disabled at all) We have fixed many cache errors in latest DXA app and UDP stack
