Dec 22, 2015 at 17:25 | comment | added | Mukesh Kumar | Thanks Nuno and RJE. I have seen the post related to similar issue here tridion.stackexchange.com/questions/5729/…, and it is clear that Outbound-email functionality is only responsible to create .EML file inside pickup folder. I have configured my local SMTP to use my relay server to send mail and now it is working fine.

Dec 22, 2015 at 8:34 | comment | added | Mukesh Kumar | Hi Nuno, I am using Tridion out of the box outbound-email feature and was in the impression of I have to configure my relay server (mailrelay.abc.com) somewhere and then I will be able to test and send the mail through content manager explorer(CME). Right now through CME I am able to generate .EML file in the pickup location and then it is doing nothing.

Dec 21, 2015 at 17:35 | comment | added | Mukesh Kumar | Hi RJE +1 for your response, I have checked that my outbound application is generating EML file. What do you mean by "You will need something to process the EML files". Should I write my own code to send the mail now. Fyi, I have mail relay server installed at some other server and I am able to send mail using relay server though .Net application.
