I notice a slight difference in XPM behavior between the RenderComponentField and tcdl:ComponentField options. Both open the Library when I select the image on the page. But RenderComponentField adds <add internal link to content> to the DOM/page. It's basically the same behavior, so we can choose based preferences.

Why not simply use tcdl:ComponentField? <tcdl:ComponentField name="BannerImage"><img src="@@Component.Fields.BannerImage@@" /></tcdl:ComponentField>

Apr 9, 2013 at 15:25 | comment | added | Stefan Shumanov | Thank, Bart. I will try it tomorrow, I want to make it. :)
Apr 9, 2013 at 15:19 | comment | added | Bart Koopman | Yes, the second is a Custom Function, which you still need to declare. The code of that function is available in the link I have placed in my answer. That code should be compiled into a DLL, which you add to the GAC and then register in the Tridion.ContentManager.config. It will make your Templates look cleaner (in my opinion), other than that it's no difference.
Apr 9, 2013 at 15:08 | comment | added | Stefan Shumanov | Thanks, Bart! I used the first way and added the markup by myself and it works now! I also tried with the second way but it fails on publishing and says "Variable MarkComponentField has not been declared". I feel like you know what the problem is, am I right? :)
