I would like to have an extension (GUI) on Component Save and Close chekcing if all fields have proper values.

I have not written any extensions as of now and will strt with simply throwing an alert on save and close.

Please suggest the steps need to be followed for any sample extension creation for 2009.

Any sample will help me here.
